Contrary to global trends where small and medium enterprises (SMEs) constitute the largest employer in either developed or developing economies, smaller firms in South Africa are showing stagnation in both turnover and employment growth. Both these measurements are important – turnover has a strong bearing on the wealth being created in the economy, while employment is vitally important for South Africa’s social stability.
The number of South Africans living in poverty has increased since 2010. In 2010, 20% of South Africa’s population fell below the poverty line. The latest statistics presented an increase to 25.5%.
But statistics don’t get to the heart of what we do. We help small business owners: the entrepreneur that has created jobs by taking on risk, being involved and serving in his community. The business owner that perseveres through the ups and downs of economic climate changes. The Model
Mackenzie Accounting runs the monthly accounting functions for SMEs based on 3 packages (dependant on turnover). This includes the bookkeeping, payroll, management reports, annual financial statements and ongoing tax structuring. It’s an umbrella solution for the SME owner that needs to be on top of his accounts but cannot afford a full-time or even part time accountant. Each package is based on a set monthly fee. This way there are no surprises, and you can plan your budget. One fee, all inclusive. It doesn’t get any easier than this.
